Description for Appalachian Lodge
You can stop looking for a site for your next family reunion or group vacation: Appalachian Lodge is it! The four-bedroom, five-bathroom home sleeps sixteen people—and a dog or two as well. And though it’s nestled among the mountains, with absolutely spectacular views, it’s only five minutes from the restaurants, shops, and attractions of downtown Gatlinburg.

Appalachian Lodge has two decks that span the width of the nearly 2,500-square-foot home, one on each of its two stories. Both look out onto the Great Smoky Mountains, as do all four bedrooms, the downstairs game room, and the upstairs great room. On the decks, you can savor the view from one of the two porch swings, from a bistro table (our favorite spot for lingering over breakfast!), or from the eight-person hot tub. There’s nothing quite like soaking among steamy jets of water while gazing up at the stars as crickets chirrup and owls hoot among the old-growth trees.

The great room’s towering walls of windows let you relish the scenery even while you’re indoors warming yourself by the gas fireplace or nestled in a leather armchair surfing the web. If you can tear yourself away from the view, you can all gather together to watch a movie or the big game on the TV, which has cable channels (including HBO) and a DVD player.

The game room is another spacious gathering space. It features a pool table (perfect for a rainy afternoon or a relaxing evening in) as well as another TV with DVD player, another fireplace too, a table perfect for an impromptu poker game, and lots of comfortable seating.

There’s plenty of seating around the dining table as well—up to ten people can fit comfortably. And the galley kitchen is fully equipped with all the appliances, cookware, tableware, and counter space you need to prepare meals to feed your hungry hordes. What’s more, outdoors there’s a charcoal grill complete with a smoker. The barbecue maestros in your group will love it!

Each floor of Appalachian Lodge has two bedrooms, one a master suite and one a double. The master bedrooms each have a so comfortable king-size bed, while the doubles each have two queen-size beds. All four bedrooms have their own bathroom, a TV with DVD player, plenty of storage, and a gorgeous mountain view courtesy of the French doors that open directly onto a deck. A fifth bathroom is just off the game room, which can sleep two more people on its sofa bed. Have even more guests? One of the great room’s sofas opens into a bed for two as well.

Among Appalachian Lodge’s myriad amenities are a washer and dryer (here’s your chance to return home from vacation with a suitcase full of clean clothes!), 2 CD players, parking for 5 vehicles, a wall-mounted hair dryer in each bathroom, unlimited long-distance calls, and free WiFi. It's the best amenity of all, however, might be its location. Tucked on a mountain ridge, the home offers plenty of privacy, yet you can drive to downtown Gatlinburg in five minutes. And a mere ten minutes away is the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, which you can explore on foot, by a bike, by car, or even on horseback. Just as close by are Ober Gatlinburg Amusement Park and Ski Area and Wild Bear Falls Water Park. Even Dollywood is less than twenty-five minutes away.

A convenient location, a spectacular setting, and luxuries such as a hot tub and a pool table: Sounds perfect, doesn’t it? That’s why you should book your stay today—before someone else beats you to it!

Reviews for Appalachian Lodge
Breathtaking View!
This is a lovely, comfortable, well laid out home. You can see that the 2016 fire came within feet of it and all of the homes both below it and up above it were burned to the ground, so we called it the Miracle Home. (Some homes have been replaced and others under construction.) It looked like all 4 bedroom carpets have recently been replaced as they were all very clean and spot-free. Kitchen is well supplied; appliances were in good working condition. The huge dining area table was perfect. Living room furniture is worn but still comfortable. We reported to maintenance that the tub in 2 queen bedroom on main floor did not drain and that the drier needed to be replaced due to its taking 70+ minutes to dry a load and even then not all clothing completely dry; we ended up laying things over the railings etc overnight. The view is breath taking; the Smokey Mountains, specifically Mt. LeConte are awesome. We never got around to using the hot tub but were told it is new. Would rent this home again.

Awesome memories!
Our family vacations in the mountains for the last three years or so and this year was the best so far. Our Cabin had excellent views and met everyone's expectations. We had a few grandchildren and great grandchildren that weren't able to go...but next week we are talking about renting the same cabin and another one close by. Thanks so much for the great views, hospitality and awesome memories.

Worth the wait!
The Appalachian house was worth the wait. I had booked the house several months in advance, due to limited availability in 2018. The outdoor views of the home were remarkable. We were so close to the downtown areas of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. This was truly a memorable stay we will never forget. Definitely looking forward to coming back in the future !

The cabin was very nice..clean..well stocked as far as dishes..convenient to shopping we loved it and look forward to returning..only one issue the. Downstairs bedrooms could definitely use new carpet.

Fun and Leisure in the Smoky Mountains
We celebrated my parents 40th wedding anniversary and could NOT have asked for a more perfect setting. The cabin is in pristine condition and the cleaning crew takes extra care to make your stay feel clean! We had ten people stay the weekend and there was more than enough room. Quick trip down the mountain to Gatlinburg and all it has to offer. This is where you want to be!
