Star Dancer, 3 Bedrooms, Home Theater, View, Hot Tub, Arcade, Sleeps 8
Gatlinburg - Smoky Mountains
The countryside surrounding Star Dancer is breathtaking: The Great Smoky Mountains rise above the lush woodlands, seemingly overtaking the clouds. You could easily while away most of your stay sitting on one of the decks watching eagles and falcons soar across the sky as fresh mountain breezes rustle through the trees. But the dog-friendly 3-bedroom home also offers plenty more to keep you entertained, including a pool table, arcade games, and a home theater with a 9-foot-wide screen.
The lower level—Star Dancer’s 4,000 square feet are spread out over 3 floors—is home to both the game room and the home theater. The game room is so large that even though it includes a full-size billiard table, 2 arcades, the area’s first virtual pinball game, a flat-screen TV with cable, and a leather sofa that can convert into a bed for 2, there’s still plenty of space for the kids to sprawl on the floor with their toys or for you to spread out your exercise mat and fit in a workout. Just as important, the room is packed with more than enough entertainment options to keep everyone happily occupied for hours.
Should the competition around the pool table get too intense, step out onto the lower deck and into the hot tub. Soaking in a tub’s steamy, whirling water is always relaxing—and now that you can do so while soaking up the stunning mountain view, it’s even more blissful.
For a different sort of relaxation, head to the home theater. As well as a 9-foot screen with Blu-ray player, premium cable channels, and multiple speakers, it features 8 beyond-comfortable reclining chairs. Even watching the news or reading a book becomes a truly luxurious experience when you’re seated here!
The open-plan living/dining/kitchen area is one flight up, on the main floor. The 3 perfectly cushioned leather sofas are ideal for watching a program on the 60” flat-screen TV, taking advantage of the free WiFi, or catching up with friends and family—assuming you can draw your gaze away from the view of the mountains just outside the 23-foot-high wall of windows. The room itself is a stunner—lustrous wood floor, walls, and vaulted ceiling; dramatic chandeliers; furnishings that define rustic refinement—and the warm glow of the gas fireplace in the winter makes it even more inviting.
There’s room for 6 at the log dining table, and another 6 can make them comfortable at the adjacent breakfast bar that surrounds the kitchen. Outfitted with a full array of appliances, cookware, and tableware—plus ample granite counters and plenty of elbow room—the kitchen will please experienced cooks as much as it will those who plan to do little more than brew coffee and reheat leftovers from the previous evening’s restaurant meal.
You can also cook and dine outdoors. As well as a gas grill, Star Dancer has a picnic table that can seat up to 10 people. There’s nothing like eating outside, surrounded by mountains and the sunshine as warblers and sparrows serenade you!
The 3 bedrooms are spread out among the house, 1 on each floor, for maximum privacy. Each definitely qualifies as a master suite, with a king-size bed, a private bathroom, a flat-screen TV, and direct access to a deck or a balcony—perfect for enjoying a romantic nightcap under the stars.
Star Dancer’s location offers a wealth of privacy and calm. It’s not too far from civilization, however. In summer you’ll have access to 3 nearby swimming pools, and Bent Creek Golf Course, designed by Masters and British Open winner Gary Player, is only a 10-minute drive away. The Great Smoky Mountains National Park and the restaurants and attractions of downtown Gatlinburg aren’t much farther.
Star Dancer proves just how luxurious a log home in the Smoky Mountains can be. But don’t take our word for it: Book your stay and savor its splendor firsthand!
