Scenic Solitude, 4 Bedrooms, Game Room, Yard, Hot Tub, HDTVs, Sleeps 12
Scenic Solitude is a nature-lover’s delight. Surrounded by thick woodlands punctuated by walking trails and well-paved roads, the 4-bedroom log cabin features a wraparound deck so that you can savor panoramic views of the trees and the Great Smoky Mountains just beyond. What’s more, the cabin is just a few miles from a “secret”—and therefore little-used—entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
Being surrounded by nature’s grandeur doesn’t mean you have to rough it, however. Scenic Solitude offers plenty of conveniences and luxuries. Take its downstairs game room: This large, inviting space includes a regulation-size pool table and air hockey, along with a flat-panel TV and 2 wonderfully comfortable sofas for kicking back and relaxing.
The great room, one flight up on the main level, is another comfortable space perfect for hanging out with your family or friends. Like the rest of Scenic Solitude, it’s decorated in classic mountain-cabin fashion, with log-style furnishing and plush seating among lustrous wood-planked walls, floors, and beamed ceilings. On chilly winter evenings the stacked-stone fireplace will add to the homey ambience, whether you’re watching a movie on the flat-screen TV, surfing the web via the free WiFi, or playing Pictionary.
The dining area seats 6 people comfortably, and the adjacent kitchen is equipped with all the appliances, cookware, and tableware you’ll need, whether you’re hosting a holiday feast or brewing that essential morning cup of coffee. The kitchen includes a dishwasher—and the cabin has a washer and dryer too, for maximum convenience.
Scenic Solitude’s 4 bedrooms and 4 full bathrooms are spread out among its 3 floors. The downstairs and main floor each have a bedroom and a bathroom; the remaining 2 en-suite bedrooms are on the top floor, separated by a cozy reading nook for optimal privacy. Each bedroom includes a queen-size bed, so if you’re vacationing with other couples you don’t have to worry about anyone drawing the short straw when it comes to accommodations. Should you have additional guests, one of the game room sofa’s opens into a queen-size bed, and the cabin has 2 air mattresses as well, so that up to 12 people can spend the night.
As restful as Scenic Solitude’s rooms are, you’ll probably be spending much, if not most, of your time outside on its covered decks. The lower deck is home to the hot tub. Though its massaging jets of steamy water are especially soothing after a day spent hiking, biking, fishing, or rafting, any time is a good one to treat yourself to a luxurious soak. During the day wrens and warblers will regale you with their songs; at night the hoots of owls are ideal background music as you gaze out at the star-studded sky. The main deck, which wraps around the entire cabin, has plenty of rocking chairs so that everyone can revel in the fresh mountain breeze rustling through the sun-dappled trees. There’s a dining area too, so that you can enjoy your meals alfresco, and a grill. The cabin has a large backyard as well, where the kids can run around if they still have energy to burn after a day spent at Dollywood or WonderWorks.
Scenic Solitude is located in the Homestead community of Wears Valley, which is sometimes described as the “quiet side of the Smokies.” The community has walking trails that pass by streams and waterfalls. There’s also a private park with a covered pavilion of picnic tables, so you can stop in the middle of your explorations for lunch.
If you’re looking for peace, privacy, and the chance to be at one with nature while making lasting memories with family and friends, you’ll love Scenic Solitude. So go ahead and book your stay today; we’re looking forward to seeing you.
