Falcon Crest, 1 Bedroom, Mtn Views, Private, Hot Tub, WiFi, Sleeps 4
Gatlinburg - Smoky Mountains
Whether you’re planning a romantic getaway, a ski trip, a hiking adventure, or a vacation dedicated to R and R, Falcon Crest is a perfect place to make your home base. Perched on a ridge among the Great Smoky Mountains, this 1-bedroom log cabin is serene and secluded, yet it’s just a few minutes’ drive to downtown Gatlinburg, the Gatlinburg Arts and Crafts Loop, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and so much more.
Falcon Crest has not 1 but 2 covered porches, each of which spans the width of the cabin, offering outstanding views of the surrounding hemlock and hardwood forest and the Smokies just beyond. In the morning you can nurse your first cup of coffee as you sit in one of the porch rocking chairs among the warbling of the songbirds; late at night enjoy a glass of wine with that special someone as you count the twinkling stars amid the gentle hoots of the owls. And at any time of day you’ll relish relaxing among the steamy, bubbling water of the back porch’s hot tub, which is large enough for both of you to share.
The rustic charm continues indoors. Burnished wood floors and moldings, oak cabinets, antique furnishings, and unexpected details such as the 6-feet stained-glass panel of a peregrine in flight elevate Falcon Crest above most other mountain cabins.
The living room includes a spacious, well-cushioned sofa that can convert into a bed for 2, enabling the cabin to sleep a total of 4 people. Of course, the couch is also perfect for kicking back and watching a movie on the new 42” flat-panel TV with Blu-ray player and surround sound—especially in winter, when you can turn on the gas fireplace (so cozy… and romantic). Or stretch out and take advantage of the internet access to post photos of your trip—and make your friends back home wildly jealous!
Gatlinburg boasts a wide range of restaurants, from steakhouses to barbecue eateries. Sometimes, though, it’s more relaxing to stay in and enjoy a private dinner for 2. Falcon Crest’s kitchen is fully equipped with all the appliances, cookware, and tableware you need, whether you plan to prepare a cordon bleu feast or simply microwave leftover pizza. If you prefer to do your cooking outdoors, there’s a charcoal grill as well; any trout you might reel in from one of the nearby streams will taste amazing grilled!
The bedroom’s amenities include a luxe king-size bed and multiple windows so that you can wake up to sunshine and drift off while listening to the breeze rustle through the trees. As well as a full en-suite bath, there’s a jetted tub nestled beneath a window. A long, lazy soak amid the gorgeous view will rejuvenate your tired muscles after a day of hiking or biking as well as reinvigorate your mind—or relax you even more so that you tumble straight to sleep as soon as you emerge!
One thing’s for sure: You’ll definitely want to be well rested so that you can take advantage of all the attractions the area has to offer. The Gatlinburg Arts and Crafts Loop, for instance, is an 8-mile trail of more than 100 galleries, studios, and craft shops offering everything from stained glass to chainsaw art, custom knives to pottery. At the Gatlinburg Community Center you can bowl, shoot pool or hoops, play racquetball, or swim in the indoor pool, to name just a few pursuits. And let’s not forget the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, with its hiking trails, historic cabins, waterfalls, and wildlife ranging from black bears to elk.
When you stay at Falcon Crest, you can plan a vacation that’s as restful or as active as you like. First, though, you need to book your stay—so go ahead and make that reservation today!
