Elks Crossing, 3 Bedroom, Jacuzzi, Hot Tub, Pool Table, Fireplace, Sleeps 8
A 3-bedroom log cabin that sleeps 8, Elks Crossing is located in Wears Valley, sometimes called “the quiet side of the Smoky Mountains.” Quiet doesn’t mean dull, however. Not only is Elks Crossing just a short drive from the attractions of both Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, but it’s also packed with amenities such as a pool table, air hockey, a hot tub, and free WiFi to keep everyone entertained. And because it’s in a resort setting, when you visit in the summer you’ll have access to a swimming pool as well.
Each of Elks Crossing’s 3 bedrooms is a master suite, complete with a king-size bed, a combination TV/VCR/DVD player, and a private bathroom. The cabin can accommodate 3 couples as comfortably as it can an extended family. If you have additional guests, one of the well-cushioned sofas in the great room can convert into a queen-size bed.
The great room is a large, open-plan space where the whole gang can hang out together, even if everyone is doing his or her own thing. Stretch out on a sofa to watch a movie on the flat-screen TV; listen to music on the CD player/radio while warming up by the stone-surround gas fireplace; play Monopoly or rummy at the dining table; curl up with a good book: However you want to relax, you can do it in style right here.
The dining table seats 6 with ease—no knocking knees or bumping elbows here. Another 2 people can sidle up to the adjacent breakfast bar. Though plenty of restaurants are nearby, once you see how well equipped and bright the open kitchen is, you might want to enjoy at least some of your meals right here. And even if you don’t, you’ll appreciate the convenience of having a refrigerator to store juice boxes and wine and a blender for mixing up milkshakes or margaritas. There’s even a dishwasher because nobody wants to wash dishes while on vacation.
The downstairs game room is sure to be a favorite hangout space for the kids—and even the adults—in your group. When you’re not shooting pool, you can play air hockey, all while watching your favorite shows on the TV/VCR/DVD player.
We’ve saved the best for last: the large screened-in porch. Here you can relax with a beverage while listening to chickadees and wrens greet the day or tree frogs and crickets chirp a lullaby. The screens keep away uninvited flying guests, and a ceiling fan makes this a lovely place to chill out even in the heat of summer. For the ultimate in luxury and rejuvenation, laze in the porch’s hot tub. Especially after a day on the go, its soothing jets of steamy water will feel so good. And if you reeled in trout from a nearby stream (or bought burgers at a nearby store), you can cook them on the porch’s gas grill for a true Smoky Mountain feast.
Elks Crossing is so peaceful, laid-back, and restful, you might want to spend the majority of your time in and around the cabin, enjoying the opportunity to spend quality time with family and friends. But when you do opt to get out and about, you’ll find that the area’s attractions are just a short drive away. One must-visit is the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, where you can hike, bike, fish, or go horseback riding among wildlife, wildflowers, and waterfalls. If amusement parks are your thing, you can explore Dollywood one day and Ober Gatlinburg Amusement Park and Ski Area the next (and yes, in winter you can also ski and snowboard at Ober Gatlinburg). The Titanic Museum, the Guinness World Records Museum, golf and mini golf, ziplining, zorbing, and a huge outlet mall are just a few more of the activities nearby.
Whether you want to do it all or do nothing at all, you’re sure to have a wonderful time at Elks Crossing. See for yourself—reserve your stay today. We look forward to seeing you!
